ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The 1000 Abrahamic Circles Creative Competition offers a unique platform for young Indonesians to share their narratives, viewpoints, concerns, and strategies regarding the vital topics of religious freedom and interfaith harmony.

Participants are encouraged to articulate their ideas through creative writing, including poems, short stories, essays, or articles.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Participants must be Indonesian citizens residing in Indonesia;

  • Submissions are limited to individual entries only;

  • Participants must be between the ages of 14 and 28 years old (open to senior high school and university students only);

  • Participants must be currently enrolled and possess an active student card.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Participants are required to include their personal information with their submissions, including their Full Name, School/University, Age, Student Card (Kartu Pelajar), and contact information;

  • Participant must follow @1000circlesproj, @fpcindo, @usembassyjkt on Instagram;

  • All submissions must be original works and should not have been previously published;

  • Submissions should not exceed 1000 words in length;

  • Use “Times New Roman” font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing for your submissions;

  • All submissions should be in English;

  • Submissions can take the form of poems, short stories, essays, or articles.

SUGGESTED TOPICS

In light of the theme #CraftingInterfaithHarmony your writing may discuss religious freedom and interfaith harmony. You can share your opinions, personal stories, and experiences in various formats such as articles, essays, short stories, and poems. The writing may raise the following topics:
 

  • Defining Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony

  • Unique ideas on how to implement Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation 

  • Religious Freedom : Challenges and Solutions 

  • The Role of Youth in promoting Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony

PRIZES

Winners of the 1000 Abrahamic Circles Creative Competition will receive prizes and an official certificate as a token of appreciation. The prizes will amount to a total of IDR 50,000,000. Winners will be divided into two categories: Senior High School level and University Level.
