Project Report
Conclusion of the Journey
As a conclusion to the 7th circle of the 1000 Abrahamic Circles, it is evident that Circle 7 features
a unique blend of deep connection and significant challenge, which sets it apart from the
previous circles. Circle 7 showed the influence of biases and prejudices had a major impact on
the development of interactions between Circle Members. On the other hand, they managed to
show significant changes in various aspects, ranging from freedom of religious expression,
emotional closeness to direct impact on the community.
The journey underscored the complexities of establishing genuine interfaith action. The warmth
and openness experienced in Parung, the critical moments of mutual understanding in Dili, and
the achievements amidst ongoing struggles in Perth collectively highlighted the delicate balance
between challenge and reward. The Circle Members, despite facing biases and prejudice,
demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment to mutual respect and understanding.
The most important aspect of Circle 7 is the success of the trip in providing a safe space for
religious expression and the direct impact on each community, as evidenced by Rabbi Sheryl's
comfort wearing a Star of David necklace in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, as well as, the massive
open dialog that was conducted with each community, and the impact it had in giving each
community a new and different perspective.
In conclusion, the Circle 7 journey has succeeded in providing a new breath in the current
turbulent world situation. The presence of Circle 7 emphasizes the need for innovative interfaith
actions at this critical time. Openness and the effort to understand each other are also important
keys to the success of this journey.
